2014 Nissan Qashqai Engine Variants

The Qashqai is available with a range of new turbocharged engines that give improved fuel economy and CO2 emissions compared with their predecessors.

Entry-level 1.2 DIG-T petrol engine petrol engines are claimed to emit 129g/km of CO2 – 15g/km less than the existing 1.6 petrol. In autumn 2014, the 1.2 DIG-T will be joined by the 1.6 DIG-T, which develops 148bhp and gives CO2 emissions of 132g/km.

The diesel Nissan Qashqai’s updated 1.5 dCi unit is the entry-point for the diesel line-up which includes more torque while CO2 emissions for this model have dropped to 99g/km and EU Combined fuel economy is 74.3mpg.

While all models will have front-wheel drive as standard, the 1.6 dCi model will also be available with four-wheel drive. In two-wheel-drive manual form, CO2 emissions are 115g/km, with EU combined fuel consumption figure of 64.2mpg.

The Qashqai 1.6 dCi models also be available with Nissan’s new Xtronic continually variable transmission (CVT) gearbox, which brings a minor penalty in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Four-wheel-drive manual 1.6 dCi models have CO2 emissions and fuel economy figures of 129g/km and 57.6mpg.

Buyers of the new model can add the Smart Vision Pack to Visia and Acenta models, which adds features such as Front Collision Avoidance, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Traffic Signal Recognition for a cost of £450.

Nissan states that the new Park Assist and Around View Monitor will allow the Qashqai to automatically parallel park in spaces just 80cm longer than the dimensions of the car. The Around View Monitor also can assist drivers parking in bays, while built in cameras also detecting moving objects around the car and an alert will sound if the object gets too close.
